New Heights for Regional Development Leadership

New Heights for Regional Development Leadership

06/29/2022

Two standouts to champion field employee experience

When Iveri Johnson and Ed Leto each accepted the role of Senior Regional Development Specialist (RDS) it was with the understanding that the job is rooted in relationships. Both professionals have a strong track record of building collaborative partnerships and translating company-wide strategy to on-site teams at Mister Car Wash.

“Our regional development teams work alongside our field managers to create positive experiences that start with application and on-boarding and continue through the complete employee life cycle,” said Anna Zappia, Vice President of Human Resources at Mister. “This new Sr. RDS role will help us drive further consistency for employee experience across the country.”

Iveri Johnson will work with the East, South-Central, and Southeast regions. Florida is churning with excitement and transition due to recent company acquisitions, and for Johnson, it feels ripe with opportunities to support emerging leaders.

“Goals cannot be met without each person understanding their role. Ed and I are here to help leaders understand then act on what it means to inspire shine in each team member, no matter what role they play,” said Johnson. “I want to use my knack for training to help the regional development and regional managers feel supported and developed in this space in the midst of change.”

Ed Leto will similarly serve the Midwest, West, and Southwest regions. He sees his role as a mentor for his RDS peers. As the company scales, he will be there to offer clarity and consistency.

“First and foremost, I’m here to help the regional development teams to be as successful, efficient, and impactful as possible,” said Leto. “Our team members wear many hats, so I will work shoulder to shoulder with them as we continue to streamline the RDS role. I want to help them feel okay about getting uncomfortable while growing, the way my leaders have done for me.”

Mister’s robust training programs go well-beyond learning functional skills and safety procedures. At every level, employees are expected to complete virtual training in areas like emotional intelligence and conflict resolution. These skills are the foundation for a caring, hard-working, and fun environment.

Development specialists ensure that these skills translate into practice and that leaders are practicing themselves as they teach. Leto and Johnson are there to remind those leaders and trainers to keep up their momentum by investing in themselves while they are training their teams.

“We are going to make it a point to support the specialists in their own development,” said Leto. “At Mister, I have the best quality of life I’ve ever had. We have so many resources and opportunities to be successful within this company, and we want to help everyone achieve their career aspirations and feel satisfied with their life and work.”

Quality employee experience and internal growth are company-wide priorities, as evidenced by the investment in structural support functions around the country. In fact, Mister is a certified 2022 Great Place to Work® – the most definitive “employer-of-choice” global recognition of workplace culture. The Mister motto, “inspiring people to shine,” runs deep here.
